The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced an important outcome in its mediation efforts regarding the exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine.
According to their statement, 180 captives were freed thanks to these efforts.

This is the UAE’s fifth mediation initiative since the start of the year, highlighting the country’s role as a reliable mediator leveraging its ties and partnerships with both sides.
The ministry expressed its gratitude to the governments of Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation in facilitating this exchange.
He further reiterated the UAE’s commitment to continuing its efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Highlighting dialogue, de-escalation and diplomacy as essential means to resolve the crisis, the UAE stressed the importance of mitigating the humanitarian repercussions resulting from the ongoing conflict.
These efforts highlight the UAE’s proactive stance in promoting peace and stability through diplomatic initiatives and mediation on the global stage.
