The Foreign Ministry announced the exchange of 180 prisoners between Russia and Ukraine following mediation efforts by the United Arab Emirates.
This is the fifth prisoner exchange between the two countries since the start of the year, with the ministry saying it is a result of the distinct ties and partnership between the UAE and the two sides.

The ministry expressed gratitude to the governments of Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation in making the exchange a success.
He also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to finding a peaceful solution to the conflict, stressing the importance of resorting to dialogue, de-escalation and diplomacy, as the only means to resolve it, while mitigating the humanitarian repercussions.
