The UAE, represented by its Ministry of Interior, sponsored the UN Police Chiefs Summit 2024, which was held at the UN Headquarters in New York on June 26-27.
xThe UAE delegation reiterated its commitment to international cooperation in combating crime and promoting global security, guided by the country’s leaders.
The summit, attended by ministers, police chiefs and senior officials of global police organizations, aims to strengthen global security, stability and peace through cooperation in policing and security at worldwide.

During the summit, Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix recognized the UAE’s contributions to UN police activities, including organizing conferences, training UN police personnel and United Nations and participating in field visits to peacekeeping missions.
Additionally, on the sidelines of UNCOPS 2024, the International Law Enforcement Initiative for Climate (I2LEC) organized a roundtable discussion focused on global law enforcement strategies for environmental protection.
This initiative highlights efforts to integrate environmental considerations into law enforcement practices globally.
