President High Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended his wishes to the UAE’s women on Emirati Women’s Day on Wednesday.
“The UAE’s journey of development would not have been possible without the tireless dedication of determined and inspirational women,” the leader said on X.
The theme of this year’s Emirati Women’s Day, ‘We share for tomorrow’, follows the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
Over the past few years, the UAE has implemented a package of laws and legislative amendments covering various aspects of women’s lives, including work, protection, political participation, and personal status. These reforms have enhanced women’s status and contributed to the UAE’s global competitiveness.
Two years ago, the UAE adopted the Gender Balance Strategy 2022-2026, which is based on a clear future vision aiming to make the UAE a global model for gender balance.
The strategy includes four pillars and main objectives: economic participation and entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, well-being and quality of life, protection, and global leadership and partnerships.
