Sultan Al Neyadi, UAE Minister of State for Youth Affairs, has emphasised youth, peace, and security have occupied a central place in the UAE’s approach since its establishment, as he led the UAE delegation participating in the High Level Global Forum on Youth, Peace, and Security, held in Jordan.

“Under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the nation’s vision reflects its deep commitment to supporting youth as a fundamental element in achieving prosperity, of which peace is a key pillar, and in building a peaceful, global, and sustainable social system.”

He added that the UAE’s priorities in the youth, peace, and security file focus on empowering youth by ensuring an appropriate environment that allows them to develop their skills and opens up opportunities across various fields of life.

“The UAE also aims to involve youth in decision-making to play a prominent role in shaping policies that support stability in their communities, in addition to investing in their potential through the development of specialised programmes and initiatives that push them to turn their capabilities into a positive force aligned with the country’s future aspirations,” he concluded.

The event, held under the theme “Arab Vision: Youth, Peace and Security on the Global Stage”, included the launch of the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace, and Security 2023-2028.

It aims to implement the agenda and resolutions of the UN Security Council in the Arab region and to enhance regional cooperation in supporting the efforts of Arab countries by promoting the active participation of Arab youth in issues related to development, peace, and security.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Arab League held an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers to discuss the national priorities of Arab countries in developing the implementation of the executive plan for the youth, peace, and security strategy.
