ADQ has now assumed management, operation and development of Abu Dhabi’s toll system DARB and the parking system Mawaqif, under the regulatory supervision of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, represented by the Integrated Transport Centre.

The transition will not impact the operations of DARB and Mawaqif, which will maintain their full range of services through existing digital channels.

DARB, operational since 2021, manages eight toll gates across key bridges in Abu Dhabi, aimed at reducing congestion and encouraging public transport use.

Mawaqif, established in 2009, provides structured parking solutions and integrates seamlessly with the DARB app for mobile payments.

Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), emphasised that this change aligns with their strategy to enhance transportation partnerships and improve the sector in Abu Dhabi.

Mansour AlMulla, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of the investment and holding company ADQ, highlighted that the latest move will create synergies that benefit both commuters and the broader transport network, supporting Abu Dhabi’s vision of a smart and sustainable transport system.

ADQ aims to foster growth by developing cluster ecosystems and supporting portfolio companies, contributing to the diversification of Abu Dhabi’s economy and improving daily essentials such as transport, power, food, water and healthcare.
