The United Arab Emirates will make subsidies for water and power to assist farmers with poor incomes.
The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued a directive that the Ministry of Community Development, in collaboration with Etihad Water and Electricity, provide assistance to low-income farm owners.

The Ministry of Community Development and Etihad Water and power have announced that a subsidy would be implemented beginning in July 2023. This subsidy will be applied in the form of a direct deduction from customers’ monthly power usage bills.

Farms will soon be able to build vacation houses and host other tourism activities on their land, as part of certain new plans.
Farms who want to host tourism activities on their agricultural land are required to apply for a licence and can only utilise a maximum of 30 percent of their property for these activities.
