The United Arab Emirates has expressed solidarity with Papua New Guinea following a landslide in which 670 people are believed to be buried.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the nation sends its “sincere condolences and sympathies to the Government and people of Papua New Guinea, as well as the families of the victims, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all hurt.”
More than 150 homes are estimated to be buried in the landslide in the remote Enga province.
More than 250 homes in the surrounding area were evacuated.
