The UAE has sent a letter to the UN Security Council, definitively discrediting the false allegations made by the Sudanese representative against the UAE.

In response to the June 10, 2024 letter from Sudan’s representative to the UN Security Council, the UAE strongly refutes what it perceives as misinterpretations and fabrications.

The UAE expresses its continued support for efforts to defuse tensions in Sudan, implement a ceasefire and promote negotiations for a legitimate and inclusive government.

The UAE highlights its serious concerns about the humanitarian impact of the Sudanese conflict, highlighting issues such as sexual violence, attacks on civilians, child recruitment and the risk of famine.

It calls on all parties to adhere to international humanitarian law, protect civilians and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Regarding the specific allegations:
1. The UAE denies allegations that Emirati passport holders were involved in the conflict, saying the individuals were part of a humanitarian delegation and condemning the misuse of their images.
2. Disputes over photographic evidence of military equipment are resolved, with the UAE rejecting allegations of arms supply during the conflict and asserting that prior military assistance was conducted legally and in coordination with the Sudanese government .
3. The UAE rejects the allegations relating to obsolete civilian phones described in the letter, arguing that they lack relevance to the military allegations.

The UAE reiterates its commitment to supporting peace efforts in Sudan and calls for increased international assistance and diplomatic support.

He condemns what he considers to be misleading statements by the Sudanese representative and calls for constructive engagement to resolve the crisis.
