The United Arab Emirates has launched a humanitarian initiative to help Brazilians affected by recent floods.

Relief packages containing food and supplies were collected and sent, along with medical supplies, electric generators and solar lighting supplies to Brazil.

300 volunteers helped send more than 200 tonnes of supplies to the country from the United Arab Emirates in recent days.

It has been reported that Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, could experience severe flooding for weeks, after receiving more than 25 inches of rain so far in May.

250,000 addresses are still without electricity and more than 136,000 people no longer have access to water.

The aid effort is coordinated by a collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, Expo City Dubai and includes the participation of the “Day for Dubai” volunteer program and members of the Brazilian community in Dubai. the United Arab Emirates.
