The United Arab Emirates welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice to impose additional interim measures on Israel, demanding an immediate halt to military operations in Rafah governorate.

The ICH also called for an end to the worsening catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the UAE affirms the need to achieve an immediate ceasefire, protect civilians, avoid further loss of life and stop the escalation in all regions of the occupied Palestinian territory.

Furthermore, the ministry stressed the importance of mitigating the extremely critical and increasingly serious humanitarian catastrophe faced by civilians in Gaza due to the continued Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The ministry reaffirmed the importance of urgently ensuring the arrival of humanitarian aid and relief in a sustainable and unhindered manner in the Gaza Strip. In this context, he underlined the importance of the decision rendered by the Court regarding the need to keep the Rafah crossing open for the widespread and unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid.

The ministry stressed that the UAE continues to work with unprecedented determination with its international partners to intensify all efforts to ensure the arrival and distribution of relief supplies by all means available. Additionally, this includes the safe delivery of aid by land, sea and air to help alleviate the critical humanitarian conditions faced by residents of the Gaza Strip due to this ongoing war.

The ministry reiterated the UAE’s steadfast call to the international community to intensify all regional and international efforts to achieve peace and the two-state solution. The ministry stressed that the UAE is firm in its commitment to strengthening peace and justice, safeguarding the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and establishing a sovereign and independent Palestinian state in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.
