More than 100,000 Emiratis are working in the private sector for the first time, announced His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

In a social media post, Sheikh Mohammed said: “I have reviewed the results of the Emiratization strategy in the private sector in the UAE. For the first time in the country’s history, the number of Emiratis working in the private sector has exceeded 100,000.

“70,000 of them have joined in the last two and a half years since my brother, the President of the UAE, launched the Nafis program with generous support amounting to 24 billion AED and the introduction of numerous favorable and incentive legislations for Emiratization in the private sector, as well as the rapid economic growth of our country.

Plans have also been announced to create an additional 100,000 new jobs over the next three years.

Under the UAE Nafis Program 2021, 10 percent of all private sector jobs are expected to be held by Emiratis by the end of 2026.
