The Dubai Media Council has launched an initiative to develop promising local media talent in partnership with the private sector.

The Emirati Media Talent Pledge aims to provide mentorship, internship and employment opportunities within leading media organizations to talented individuals, primarily media students.

The initiative, which will be implemented by the Dubai Press Club, was announced on Tuesday at the Arab Media Forum (AMF).

In its first phase, it has already attracted several leading Arab and international media organizations.

“By fostering an environment that fosters creativity and innovation, we aim to provide young talent with the tools necessary to thrive in an evolving media environment. Our aim is to enable them to lead the development of local media, foster journalistic excellence and contribute significantly to the progress of the nation,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

Entities that pledged their support in the first phase of the initiative include TECOM, ARN, Asharq News, The National, Sky News Arabia, CNN Business Arabic, Edelman, Gulf News, DIFC, Al Aan TV, Qanawat, Hills Advertising, Al Sayegh. Media, Navigation Movies, N App, IMI, Al Ain News, APCO, CNN Arabic, Havas, WPP and CNBC Arabia.
