UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol met in Seoul on Wednesday to explore opportunities to leverage the special strategic partnership between the two countries and expand cooperation in various fields.

The two leaders also discussed regional and international issues and developments of common concern.

The meeting took place during official talks at the President’s Office in Seoul as part of His Highness’ state visit.

The two leaders reviewed existing and potential cooperation, notably in the areas of economy and investment, conventional and clean energy, peaceful nuclear energy, defense and nuclear technology. defense, as well as other areas of mutual interest, including science, technology, sustainability and culture. .

They also explored opportunities to promote mutual interests and meet the current and future needs of the two countries and exchanged views on several regional and international issues, foremost among which the importance of supporting global efforts aimed at promote peace, stability and development in the Middle East.

The two men also highlighted the need for the global community to build bridges of communication, understanding and collaboration to promote inclusive development and sustainable prosperity.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the UAE and South Korea enjoy deep strategic relations based on common interests, mutual respect and a shared commitment to world peace.

He also said that since 2009, the two countries have successfully collaborated on one of the UAE’s most important strategic development projects, the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. South Korea is also one of the UAE’s most important trading partners, both regionally and globally.

His Highness thanked President Yoon Suk Yeol and the Korean people for the warm welcome the UAE delegation received and wished the country continued progress and prosperity.

President Yoon Suk Yeol hosted a luncheon in honor of His Highness the President and the accompanying delegation.
