The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has called on Hajj pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia to get vaccinated against influenza and other essential vaccines at least 15 days before their trip.

This is to ensure the effectiveness of the vaccine and guarantee travelers sufficient immunity.

Pilgrims must ensure that their doses are recorded on the international vaccination card by accredited health centers.

The ministry also stressed the importance of carrying essential medicines, staying well hydrated, following a healthy diet and taking precautions against extreme heat.

People suffering from chronic illnesses are also advised to carry out medical examinations before flying.
