The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Jordan have condemned continued Israeli incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs of Jordan, condemned the latest incursion, led by a minister Israeli, members of the Knesset. and extremists under the protection of the Israeli police.

In a telephone call, the two ministers denounced the Israeli government’s authorization of the so-called “Flag March” in occupied Jerusalem, the accompanying aggression against Palestinians and the imposition of restrictions on access of the faithful to the Al-Aqsa mosque.

The two senior diplomats stressed the need for Israel, as the occupying power, to respect its legal obligations and put an end to illegitimate and illegal measures that undermine the chances of achieving a just, lasting and comprehensive peace based on two-state solution. .

They affirmed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque holds unique and deep spiritual significance for Muslims, and stressed the need for Israel to respect the historical and legal status quo of Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites.
