The United Arab Emirates has condemned in the strongest terms and denounced the continued Israeli violations which have resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries among innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) highlighted the UAE’s categorical rejection of targeting civilians and civilian facilities.
The ministry stressed that the immediate priority is to preserve the lives of civilians and ensure the immediate, safe, sustainable and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid and relief supplies to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The ministry reaffirmed the need for an immediate ceasefire to avoid further loss of life, reiterating the importance of protecting civilians and civilian institutions, in accordance with international law, including international treaties, and the need to ensure that they are not targeted during the conflict.
Israeli forces shelled central Gaza on Sunday, a day after killing 274 Palestinians in a hostage rescue raid.
