The UAE has signed an agreement with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to allocate US$5 million to the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF).
The contribution to OCHA is part of a broader $70 million commitment to address urgent humanitarian needs in Sudan, through UN agencies and humanitarian organizations. This funding represents a substantial part of the $100 million commitment pledged by the UAE in April at the “International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries”. This contribution brings the total amount of UAE aid to Sudan over the past 10 years to more than $3.5 billion.
