Private schools in Dubai will not be subject to full inspections in the 2024-2025 academic year, with the exception of new schools completing their third year of operation. Legacy schools can still request a full inspection online.
The move follows high numbers shared by KHDA for the current academic year. The move, announced by the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau, means it will carry out targeted quality assurance visits to monitor the progress of improvement plans, thereby supporting schools’ development efforts.
Key statistics from 2023-2024 inspections include:
• 209 private schools inspected.
• 10 schools inspected for the first time.
• 19,782 class visits carried out.
• 4,407 hours of discussions with students, parents and school leaders.
• 81% of students receive an education rated Good or above.
• 83% of schools offer wellbeing services rated Good or better.
Dubai’s private schools continue to perform exceptionally well on the global stage, ranking sixth for literacy, top 10 for mathematics, and top 14 for science and reading. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of Dubai’s education strategies, which benefit nearly 49,500 students who now attend schools rated Good or above.
With more targeted quality assurance visits, Dubai aims to maintain and improve its world-class educational standards.
