A delegation from Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently completed a visit to China, where it inspected prototype buses that will soon be introduced into the emirate’s public transport fleet.
The delegation’s main objective was to assess the latest advances in electric and eco-friendly bus technologies, learning through discussions with their Chinese counterparts about their current and future public transport innovations.
Sharjah is expected to receive 38 of these 55 innovative buses over the next three months. The visit highlighted RTA Sharjah’s commitment to enhancing its fleet with state-of-the-art and eco-friendly vehicles.

During their stay, RTA Sharjah officials thoroughly examined the bus prototypes, focusing on their performance, safety features and overall operational efficiency.
This visit marks an important step towards strengthening Sharjah’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility and reducing carbon emissions.
