The UAE has dispatched a plane carrying relief aid to the Philippines to support those affected by landslides and floods caused by Typhoon Carina.
This comes following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The aid shipment includes food supplies, shelter materials and medical equipment, aimed at addressing the immediate needs of those affected.
The typhoon has severely impacted the capital Manila and other areas, including Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Central Luzon and Bangsamoro, leaving thousands displaced in temporary evacuation centres.
Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, expressed solidarity with the Philippines, highlighting the UAE’s support for the Filipino community and underscoring the strong historical ties between the two nations.
“This reflects the country’s support and appreciation for the Filipino community living in the UAE, who contribute to the development, and growth of the country, added Al Hashimy.
