Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently conducted a series of inspections targeting unlicensed passenger transport providers in various parts of the emirate.
More than 220 vehicles were seized during the crackdown, which focused on known hotspots for this type of illegal activity.
As many as 90 cars were seized from areas around Terminals 1, 2 and 3 of Dubai Airport, while 49 vehicles were seized in Jebel Ali and another 86 in other locations, including Hatta.
The inspections were carried out in coordination with Dubai Police, Airport Security, Emirates Parking and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs.
The RTA said the confiscated vehicles were towed to Lehbab station.
